Dear
Paul:
This
afternoon while waiting for my appointment, I was speaking with a woman
who was at the salon to have a haircut and pedicure. During our
conversation, she mentioned that she was from Albany - a nearly
2.5
hour drive to Scarsdale. Amazed and curious, I asked why
she would make such a
trip for a haircut? Her response was that she used to be a
hair
replacement client while she was undergoing chemotherapy. She
said
now that she has recovered and regained her own hair, she
occasionally makes the trip to say hello to a friend who helped her
through a rough period of her life. That friend is you but I suppose
you know that.
I
later heard from your staff that quite a few
clients of the salon are former chemotherapy clients who no longer need
hair replacement services. Although a 5 hour round trip may be the
exception, it is testament to incredible client relationships that
appear to be common at Oggi/Adam&Eve.
As
you know, I've
been a client for quite a while. Fortunately, I've
not needed your hair replacement services for reasons related to
illness. However, I can't think of anyone whom I would trust more
in such a situation. Although
you may not be able to directly
improve a person's health, you are certainly a member of an important
team that is responsible for delivering treatment. The
true measure of the value of your
work is the effect you have on a client's life not on their illness.
That
said, I commend you for all you have done for so many. I can
think of no person who sets a
better example of someone willing to go the "extra mile" to
satisfy a
client. Your gentle presence is comforting and your skills
reassuring.
I
cannot recommend you nor your
organization more highly.
Best regards,
Theresa
